FeedMore WNY was born in 2019 from the highly successful merger of two of Western New York's most respected hunger-relief organizations: the Food Bank of WNY (founded in 1979) and Meals on Wheels for Western New York (founded in 1969). Together, these organizations brought a combined 100 years of service to the community, joining forces to create a unified, more efficient front against regional food insecurity. Currently operating out of a warehouse on Holt Street and a commissary on James E. Casey Drive in Buffalo, the nonprofit is in the midst of a historic capital campaign to build a consolidated, state-of-the-art 197,700 square-foot headquarters in the Town of Hamburg to expand its capacity.

FeedMore WNY assists community members of all ages, backgrounds, and circumstances across four Western New York counties: Erie, Niagara, Cattaraugus, and Chautauqua. The organization serves a diverse demographic ranging from impoverished urban neighborhoods in the City of Buffalo and struggling working-class suburbs, to rural families in the Southern Tier and homebound elderly seniors. Through its partner agencies and mobile networks, FeedMore WNY ensures that food access is treated as a basic human right for all local residents.

The mission of FeedMore WNY is to offer dignity, hope, and a brighter future by providing nutritious food, friendship, and skills training to its Western New York neighbors in need. Operating under the belief that the struggle against hunger is deeply tied to poverty, injustice, and health disparities, the nonprofit seeks to solve hunger through a combination of direct food distribution, nutrition education, and targeted workforce development programs.

The nonprofit operates several critical regional programs, including a food bank distribution center that supplies over 15 million pounds of food annually to nearly 400 local pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters. It also runs a massive home-delivered meal program (Meals on Wheels), the "BackPack Program" for school-aged children, and the innovative "Food Farmacy" initiative, which integrates clinical health metrics with nutrition education in partnership with local healthcare providers. By serving as the primary backbone of WNY's hunger-relief efforts, FeedMore WNY has an immeasurable, life-saving impact on the community.
