Concerned about safety on my street

I just heard about the shooting on Westminster Ave and I am getting really worried about the safety in my neighborhood. I live just a few blocks away on Elmwood Ave and I have kids who attend Buffalo Public Schools. I dont want them to have to worry about gunfire when theyre walking home from school. Has anyone else heard anything about what happened?

I was talking to my neighbor who owns a shop on Hertel Ave and she said shes seen an increase in police presence lately, but I still dont feel like its enough. We need to do something to make our streets safer.

Does anyone have any ideas or know of any community initiatives that are working to address this issue? I want to get involved and make a difference.
