Bills Draft Picks - What Do You Think?
I was just grabbing a coffee at Rowhouse Bakery on Elmwood Avenue and overheard some guys talking about the Bills' draft picks. I'm a huge fan and I'm really hoping Brandon Beane can work some magic this year. We need some serious talent to fill those roster gaps. I've been a season ticket holder for years and I've seen some ups and downs, but I'm feeling pretty optimistic about this year. Has anyone else been following the draft news? What do you think about our chances this season? I'm planning on heading to New Era Field with some friends from Canisius College to catch a game and I want to make sure we're all ready for a winning season. Let me know your thoughts! I'm @BillsFan4Life

Sabres Fever is Back
I was driving down Elmwood Avenue yesterday and saw all the Sabres flags and banners, it got me so hyped for the playoffs. I've been a season ticket holder for years and I'm thrilled to see them take on the Bruins. I'm planning to grab a bite to eat at Gene McCarthy's before the game, has anyone tried their new menu? I'm a little worried about the traffic on Hopkins Road with all the construction, but I'm sure it'll be worth it to see the Sabres play. Let's go Buffalo!, I went to Canisius High School and we always had a rivalry with the Boston schools, so this series is going to be intense. Does anyone know if the Sabres are doing any giveaways or promotions for the first game? I want to make sure I get there early to grab some swag.

City Projects
Digital mapping of Buffalo streets
I was reading an article about how the city is planning to digitally map all the streets in Buffalo to help guide repairs. As someone who's lived on the West Side for years, I can attest to the fact that our roads are in desperate need of repair. I've lost count of how many times I've had to replace my car's suspension due to all the potholes on Richmond Avenue. I'm glad to see that the city is taking steps to address this issue, but I hope they don't forget about the smaller side streets like mine. It seems like all the attention is always focused on the main roads like Delaware Avenue and Hertel Avenue, while the rest of us are left to deal with crumbling infrastructure. I'm curious to know more about how this project will work and how residents can get involved. Will we be able to report potholes and other issues through an app or website? I'd love to see some transparency and accountability in this process, especially since it's our tax dollars that are funding it.

Ingram Micro is coming to Downtown Buffalo
I just heard that Ingram Micro is bringing 1,200 employees to their new office on Main Street in Downtown Buffalo. I work at a coffee shop on Elmwood Avenue and I'm excited to see all the new faces, hopefully they'll be stopping by for a cup of coffee on their way to work. I've been living in the Allentown neighborhood for a few years now and it's amazing to see all the new developments popping up around the city. I'm a little concerned about the traffic on Main Street though, it's already pretty congested during rush hour. I hope the city has a plan to improve the infrastructure to accommodate all the new commuters. Has anyone else heard about this or have any thoughts on how it will affect our community? I'm looking forward to seeing the impact that Ingram Micro will have on our local economy, maybe it will even bring some new businesses to the area. I've heard rumors that there are plans to renovate some of the old buildings on Genesee Street, maybe we'll see some new restaurants or shops popping up soon.

Go Bandits
Just got back from the Bandits game at the KeyBank Center and I'm still buzzing from the energy. Dhane Smith is an absolute legend, the way he led the team to victory was incredible. I've been a season ticket holder for years and it's amazing to see how far the team has come. I'm a little biased since I grew up in the University Heights neighborhood and went to UB, but I think the Bandits are a great representation of our city's spirit. We're a tough, resilient community and our sports teams reflect that. Anyone else catch the game last night? What did you think of the new perspective that Dhane Smith is bringing to the team? I'm excited to see how the rest of the season plays out, maybe we'll even make it to the championships this year.

Getting Involved in the Community
I've been looking for ways to get involved in the Buffalo community, and I'm excited to start volunteering at a local non-profit. The organization is located near the intersection of Main Street and Utica Street, and works to provide support and services to underserved communities. I'm also thinking about joining a community garden, I've heard it's a great way to meet new people and get involved in the community. The garden is located near the intersection of Elmwood Avenue and Bidwell Parkway, and features a variety of plots and programs for gardeners of all levels. I'm so excited to start making a difference in Buffalo and to meet other residents who are passionate about the community. The area around the non-profit, including the nearby Masten Park, is also a popular spot for community events and gatherings.

My Favorite Restaurant in Buffalo
I love eating at Anchor Bar, it's one of my favorite restaurants in the city. The bar is located near the intersection of Main Street and North Street, and is famous for its buffalo wings. I also enjoy visiting the Elmwood Village, it's such a vibrant and eclectic neighborhood with many unique shops and restaurants. The village is located near the intersection of Elmwood Avenue and Bidwell Parkway, and features a variety of dining options, from casual eateries to fine dining establishments. Buffalo has such a great food scene, there's always something new to try. I feel so lucky to have so many amazing restaurants to choose from. The area around Anchor Bar, including the nearby Lafayette Square, is also a popular spot for nightlife and entertainment.

Whoever parks the black F-150 on Richmond Ave โ€” please, just back it up two feet
I'm not trying to be difficult about this, but I need to say something. The person with the big black Ford F-150 who parks on the west side of Richmond near West Ferry โ€” your truck bed is sticking out past your driveway and blocking the entire sidewalk. It has been doing this every morning for two weeks. I push my daughter in her stroller down Richmond on the way to get coffee every morning, and I've had to bail into the bike lane to get around your truck. Richmond during rush hour is not the place to be doing that with a stroller. It's genuinely dangerous. I really don't want to call parking enforcement on a neighbor. But I also can't just keep doing this. Two feet back and the problem is solved โ€” please.

Looking for an honest roofer in North Buffalo or Kenmore
That windstorm last week got me. I went up into the attic yesterday and found a small leak forming right above my guest bedroom. I've got one of those old 1920s doubles off Hertel, and the roof was already on borrowed time โ€” so I think I'm looking at a full replacement. I've already called two of the big radio-advertising companies and both quotes came back at numbers I can't justify. I'm looking for a local crew that knows what they're doing, cleans their nails out of the driveway when they're done, and isn't going to try to talk me into a skylight I don't need. If you've had good work done on a similar house in North Buffalo or Kenmore, please drop the name below. Really appreciate it.

Questions & Answers
Can anyone tell me what actually happened at Ralph Wilson Park?
I read the Buffalo News piece about the Conservancy leadership all resigning at once and I genuinely can't figure out what triggered it. They literally have nobody left except an acting chairman. I live on the Lower West Side, so I've had a front-row seat to the construction and all the road closures that came with it. We've been patient through all of it because the promise of what this park is supposed to become is real. A $250 million waterfront transformation is a big deal for this neighborhood. Does anyone have any actual inside knowledge about what caused the exodus? And does this push the summer opening back? That's the part I'm most worried about.

Public Espresso is really gone and I don't know what to do with that
I've been staring at my phone all morning since I read the news. Public Espresso closing all three locations after 13 years just hit me harder than I expected. Their downtown spot has been part of my morning routine for nearly a decade. The owners said the 'changing tides' of small business made things impossible to keep going, and honestly, I get it โ€” but it doesn't make it hurt less. It feels like we keep losing the places that made Buffalo's food and coffee scene feel like something worth bragging about. For those of us who were regulars downtown โ€” where are you going now? I want to make sure my money is still going to local roasters who are still fighting to stay open. Overwinter seems like the obvious move, but open to other suggestions.

The Burgard alumni aren't wrong, and the school board needs to hear that
I watched the news coverage of the Burgard alumni pushing back on BPS leadership, and every single thing they said was correct. Holes in the ceiling. Broken bathrooms. Clocks that don't work. These are the conditions kids on the East Side are trying to learn in. We live in a city where property taxes are among the highest in the country, and certain schools are literally falling apart. At what point does the board stop scheduling more meetings to 'review the situation' and actually write a check to fix these buildings? Those alumni showing up and making noise is exactly what needs to happen. Students at Burgard deserve to feel like their school was worth investing in. That shouldn't be a controversial position.
