Concerns about the new development on Main St

I just heard that theyre planning to build a new high rise on Main St and Im really worried about the impact its going to have on our little town. Ive lived on Elm St my whole life and Ive seen so many small businesses come and go. I just dont want to see Allentown lose its charm. Does anyone know what the plans are for this new development?

I walked by the site the other day and saw that theyve already started tearing down the old building that used to house the Allentown Diner. It was a staple in our community and now its just a pile of rubble. I know progress is important but can’t we find a way to preserve some of our history?

I hope someone from the town council will chime in and let us know whats going on. I know they have meetings at the Allentown High School but I never seem to be able to make it. Anyone have any info?
