Local Music Scene Needs More Support

I'm so tired of seeing all these national contests and sweepstakes come through our city, but nothing ever seems to happen for our local music scene. I mean, I love The Black Crowes as much as the next person, but what about all the talented musicians playing gigs on Grant Street or at the local bars on Tonawanda Street?

It feels like no one is giving them the support they deserve. I've been to some amazing shows at the sports bar on Hertel Avenue and I think we should be promoting our own local talent instead of just entering contests for big-name bands.

I wish someone would start a movement to support our local music scene. We could use more venues and events that showcase the talent we have right here in Black Rock.
