Buffalo students received one on one help with college applications and financial aid during a weekend event on the East Side.

WHY IT MATTERS: With ongoing FAFSA challenges, events like this provide essential support for students and families planning for college.

High school juniors and seniors from across Buffalo Public Schools gathered this weekend at the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts for the Ready Set College event. The session focused on helping students and families navigate the college application process.

Counselors and financial aid experts were available to assist with FAFSA applications, review essays, and explore scholarship opportunities across Western New York. With recent national delays affecting financial aid systems, organizers stressed how important in person support is this year.

The event also included presentations, food, and giveaways, creating a supportive environment for families preparing for the next step in education.
