A new University at Buffalo exhibit reflects on the legacy of the Love Canal disaster and the activism that followed.

WHY IT MATTERS: The exhibit offers a meaningful look at local history and the environmental activism that led to lasting national change.

As the 50 year anniversary of the Love Canal disaster approaches, the University at Buffalo has introduced a new exhibit titled Toxic Archives Voices from Love Canal. Located at the Silverman Library, the exhibit features photographs, documents, and firsthand stories from residents who were affected.

The university also announced a keynote event on April 16 featuring author Keith O Brien along with activist Luella Kenny, whose work played a major role in raising awareness and pushing for environmental reform.

The exhibit highlights an important chapter in Western New York history and aims to ensure that the story and its impact continue to be remembered by future generations.
