It wasn't supposed to go this way for the top seed, but Jamestown had other plans. The Red and Green took down Health Sciences 61-55 at the Buffalo State Sports Arena on Saturday, claiming the Section VI Class AAA boys basketball championship and making it three titles in three seasons for head coach Bill Miley.
Health Sciences came in fast and physical, pushing the tempo and making it a real game throughout. But when the fourth quarter got tight, Jamestown locked in defensively and made their free throws when it counted โ and that was enough to seal it.
The gym was packed, the atmosphere was exactly what high school basketball should feel like, and the final score reflected just how good the competition has been at the top of Section VI this year.
