St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute delivered a statement performance with an 11-3 victory over St. Francis, showcasing elite control of possession and defensive discipline. The Marauders dictated the tempo from the opening faceoff, winning over 80% of draws and maintaining sustained offensive pressure.
L. Balfe and Z. Cortes each scored twice, while E. Freeman added a goal and two assists to lead a balanced offensive attack. SJCI’s ability to spread scoring across multiple contributors made it difficult for St. Francis to adjust defensively.
In goal, M. Yager was highly efficient, recording 9 saves on 11 shots. Combined with a dominant ground ball advantage, SJCI’s all-around execution highlighted why they remain one of the top contenders in Section VI lacrosse.
